What Can Go Wrong? #1: Random Number Generator Picks My Weekend Read!

Hello everyone,

My tbr bookshelf!

I decided to start a series called “What Can Go Wrong?” where a random number generator picks me a book for the weekend and I will read it! I’ve packed books that I’ve owned for a year or more onto my shelf shown above. These are all books that some I really want to read and some I don’t. (Please do not pick Gilead!)

Here is the number chosen for me:

Yayyyyyy! Not Gilead!!!

Book chosen is this one!:

The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman. I have actually read this, but don’t remember a thing or if I wrote a review for it and really want to be able to knock out another series! I’m sure a lot of you already know about this book, but just in case…

GOODREADS SUMMARY:

Irene is a professional spy for the mysterious Library, which harvests fiction from different realities. And along with her enigmatic assistant Kai, she’s posted to an alternative London. Their mission – to retrieve a dangerous book. But when they arrive, it’s already been stolen. London’s underground factions seem prepared to fight to the very death to find her book.

Adding to the jeopardy, this world is chaos-infested – the laws of nature bent to allow supernatural creatures and unpredictable magic. Irene’s new assistant is also hiding secrets of his own.

Soon, she’s up to her eyebrows in a heady mix of danger, clues and secret societies. Yet failure is not an option – the nature of reality itself is at stake.

And that is the book chosen! I will replace it with The Pickwick Papers by David Copperfield (one I really don’t want to read but had for ages!)

Until next time,

This Week I’m Reading

I’ve got quite a few books on my list that I really need to read and review! Several of them look good, several of them are books that are being talked about all over social media, and several of them are from people I’ve never even heard of before. I look forward to reading all of these, and I’ve already started reading “The Unbinding of Mary Reade”.

These aren’t all the books, I think, but a good chunk of them. I’ve also started reading Fawkes, and it started off with a bang of being a powerful story and I’m eager to keep reading it later tonight.

Until next time,

-Pass Me That Book.
