WWW Wednesday: Not Much Read

Hello Everyone,

I haven’t read a whole lot as I got busy again with RealLife getting in the way but I still managed a few. One of which I don’t have a picture of unfortunately so ignoring that one.

What did I Read?:

My favorite out of all these was Idyll Threats surprisingly enough! I’ve already requested books two and three at the library. A murder mystery set in a small town where the MC is a sheriff that’s secretly gay. Delightful! The rest were all equally good, though some I liked better than others. Some reviews coming soon!

What Am I Currently Reading?:

I’m still working on my buddy read of Jasmine Throne, and I’m about 15% in. Really liking it. Hope to knock out the other two today, Black Water Sister being an Netgalley Arc.

What Am I Reading Next?:

She Who Became the Sun-library physical book

Cemetery Boys-Netgalley Arc

The Strange Case of the Alchemist Daughter-library physical copy

Jade Fire Gold-waiting for hold at library

A Dark and Hollow Star-library ebook

Priory of the Orange Tree-owned ebook

The Sisters of the Winter Wood-owned physical arc

The Library of Fates-owned physical book

Never Die-Owned ebook

The Goblin Emperor-waiting for hold copy at library

I hope to get all these read, though Priory is a beast of a book and let’s not forget that I’m reading something exciting for Halloween:

I think I’m definitely nervous reading this but also hugely excited. It’s fitting for Halloween too, isn’t it? Happy Halloween everyone and hope your reading goes well!

Book TBR List: Top Five Dark Academia Books On My Radar

Hey y’all,

Lately I have discovered a love for dark academia and with fall on the way it’s the perfect mood read! So I gathered a list of the top ones that I have been dying for and thought I’d share it with you!

#1:

Who hasn’t seen this book floating around? It’s been super hyped up and I’m here for it. For those of you who don’t recall or haven’t known about it, Victoria Lee is also the author of The Fever King, which-shockingly-I haven’t read yet either. But this is high on my radar and I can’t wait!

#2:

Who has seen this cover? Because I sure haven’t! I like this cover and it intrigues me into wanting to read the secret history even more but it’s a solid 600+page book. Maybe someday I will get to it.

#3:

I have an arc of this that I still haven’t read-whoops. I’m hoping to get to my arcs soon, but I simply lost the will of writing reviews. I’m struggling to get back into it by building up to it. But I’ve heard great things about this book so hopefully I’ll love it!

#4:

I adore Leigh Bardugo, so why haven’t I red this yet?! What have I been doing all this time?! Why am I so behind on backlist titles?!? But this has mixed reviews and I am tentative in picking this up. Maybe for Halloween I might!

And finally…

#5:

This book looks so stunning! I have an arc of this too, but who here is shocked that I haven’t read it. *heavy sigh*. I’ve actually heard nothing about this book from anyone despite it’s being a best seller? Has anyone read this?

Those are the top five books that are Dark Academia that are on my list! Are any of these your favorites? What ones are you familiar with? I hope to get to these soon but probably wise not to hold our breathes lol.

Until next time,

What Can Go Wrong? #1: Random Number Generator Picks My Weekend Read!

Hello everyone,

My tbr bookshelf!

I decided to start a series called “What Can Go Wrong?” where a random number generator picks me a book for the weekend and I will read it! I’ve packed books that I’ve owned for a year or more onto my shelf shown above. These are all books that some I really want to read and some I don’t. (Please do not pick Gilead!)

Here is the number chosen for me:

Yayyyyyy! Not Gilead!!!

Book chosen is this one!:

The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman. I have actually read this, but don’t remember a thing or if I wrote a review for it and really want to be able to knock out another series! I’m sure a lot of you already know about this book, but just in case…

GOODREADS SUMMARY:

Irene is a professional spy for the mysterious Library, which harvests fiction from different realities. And along with her enigmatic assistant Kai, she’s posted to an alternative London. Their mission – to retrieve a dangerous book. But when they arrive, it’s already been stolen. London’s underground factions seem prepared to fight to the very death to find her book.

Adding to the jeopardy, this world is chaos-infested – the laws of nature bent to allow supernatural creatures and unpredictable magic. Irene’s new assistant is also hiding secrets of his own.

Soon, she’s up to her eyebrows in a heady mix of danger, clues and secret societies. Yet failure is not an option – the nature of reality itself is at stake.

And that is the book chosen! I will replace it with The Pickwick Papers by David Copperfield (one I really don’t want to read but had for ages!)

December TBR: Let’s Play A Game

There are many different categories of this ‘game’, from my Amazon Wishlist to books on my nightstand. Each category has ten books listed. Each book is one that has likely been sitting on my TBR for months/years or is brand new and everyone has hyped about it. In this month of December, let’s see just how many of these books I can finish before the end of 2018 shall we?

Top Ten Amazon Books On My LONG List: (Least Likely to Get To)

(Note: I have no idea how many books I have on my Amazon Wishlist.)

Top Ten Books in my Long Goodreads TBR List: (hopeful to request at library)

(Note: I have 3400 books in my Goodreads TBR.)

Top Ten Books in my Library Ebook System Waiting For Me To Read:

(Note: I have 518 books in my Ebook Library Wishlist.)

Top Ten Kindle E-books I Own On My TBR:

(Note: I have no idea how many kindle e-books I own. Additional Note: The Tethered Mage will be a re-read so that I might remember plot for Book Two if I succeed in getting hold of it.)

Top Ten ARCS on my TBR Wistlist:

(Note: I have five books on Edelweiss, and 16 Arcs in my Netgalley Account, plus one physical arc that I received in the mail making for a total of 22 ARCs.)

Top Ten New Books I Own On My Wishlist:

(Note: I have no idea how many new books I have, as I have not done a physical count in a while.)

Top Ten Books on my Nightstand:

{Note: I have about thirty books on my nightstand, and throughout my room that are in my immediate reach.}

{Additional Note: Game of Thrones will be a re-read, as I have never finished reading the series, and only recall certain bits of the television show.}

And that’s it! Those are all the books that I *want* to get to, but again I highly doubt I will read every single one of these. Especially those from the Amazon wish list, because several of those are still a bit out of budget. Which ones should I read first? Which looks most appealing? Which have you read already? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

-Pass Me That Book.
