Happy New Year: New Year, New Arcs!

There’s lots of new arcs that I was recently approved on Netgalley. I’ve done two reviews thus far, but am behind-again-but only because I’m working on other things too. It being the new year, there’s also little time for reading/writing with family over for the holidays, which makes it more challenging as well. But I decided to do a brief post where I display the upcoming ARCs that I plan on reading and reviewing. Here are the new books that I was approved on Netgalley, several of which I am eagerly anticipating!

I’m quite excited for “Romanov”, “Fog Season”, and “A Danger to Herself and Others” but I really am eagerly anticipating all of these, and can’t wait to start reading them! I hope I can get to them soon, because my Netgalley reading list is starting to become rather alarming.

Other books that I’m currently reading:

The Defiant Heir by Melissa Caruso

The Witch of Willow Hall by Hester Fox

The Winter Road by Adrian Selby

I should have reviews up for those three books soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for that, as well as several other updates I’m planning on doing. I’ve been working like made on the secret project, hoping to get it up soon. Otherwise, this is all the news that I really have to share with at the moment. I hope everyone had a lovely new year, and got approved arcs as well.

Until next time,

Anticipated Reads: My TBR Hates Me

Last night I was procrastinating in writing for NaNoWriMo (of course) and browsed Amazon for any new and upcoming releases that I wasn’t aware of yet, because I’d been putting off doing that and I actually have Wi-Fi at the moment. Turns out, there’s a LOT of books coming out that I can’t wait to get my hands on. After doing this, I’ll post the books on my Anticipated Reads page-sometime soon-but I felt this would be a fun post! On to the books!

So many pretties! Some of the covers are just breathtaking, and I want them, I want them now! Sadly, I will have to wait, as only a few are out on pre-order, and even then I’d still have to wait after pre-ordering too. My shelves won’t thank me for this, but a lot of these are absolute must-have’s due to the authors being my most favorite authors.

What are your upcoming anticipated reads? Anything fantasy that I didn’t catch? Let me know in the comments!

Top #5 Novellas On My TBR

I didn’t ever read Novellas before Murderbot came out, unless you count fanfiction novellas, but those weren’t physical books that I could hold in my hands and read. Novellas weren’t an important thing to me, as much as the next big hefty book that had at least 300+pages. But now, there are lots of Novellas coming out, and I’ve discovered others that have captured my attention aside from Murderbot that I’m eager to read. I found the Binti scifi series, which I absolutely adore, though perhaps not as much as Murderbot, though it is close. Now these are some of the latest Novellas that I’ve come across, and each of them not only have pretty, pretty covers but fascinating storylines!

#1: Keeper of the Dawn

Keeper of the Dawn

{Click the title to go to the Goodreads page for a description of the book, same thing for the next five books.}

This is high on my list, and one of the first novellas that I’ve found as well. The cover is nice to look at, though not my favorite (Murderbot!) and the storyline is definitely right up there with things I love. And with a strong female character, or so it seems, I’m definitely wanting to get my hands on this little story.

#2: Temporary Duty Assignment
Temporary Duty Assignment

I rarely read romance, because most of the time it’s annoying and the characters are all mushy and it’s all smutty romance. It’s not my favorite category, but there are times when I’m in the mood for a good action/romance plot! This looks like one of those, and so I’ve added it to my list! I also really love this cover!

#3: A Glimmer of Silver
A Glimmer of SilverThis one sounds absolutely fascinating, and is water based! I love water based stories, especially science fiction water based stories! And it’s also a coming of age which is another favorite thing to read! I’m eagerly anticipating this one, and again, just look at that cover!

#4: Accelerants

Accelerants

This sounds like it’s more my thing, with lots of fantasy elements and¬† a girl who controls fire is always awesome. And might I just point out, yet again, how beautiful the cover is? I really love this cover, and it’s close to beating out my top favorites with how pretty that art is!

And last but not least:

#5: Agents of Dreamland
Agents of Dreamland

How can I not list one of my favorite authors on this list? Caitlin R. Kiernan is a huge fantasy author that I love, and didn’t realize that there was a novella of hers coming out until I started making a list of novellas to read. Now I’m eager to read this, and the title and the fact that it’s science fiction, my second favorite category to read, is making it even harder to wait in reading this novella!

And those are my #5 Novellas that I’m eagerly anticipating, now that I’ve done some research, I’m going to request quite a few from the library. Seeing as they are quite short, each of them about 100 pages or so, I’m thinking that these can be read quickly. If you have more suggestions for novellas that I haven’t listed here, feel free to post them in the comments! I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

My Ambitious October TBR

This month is yet again filled with ARCs and New Releases, some of these new Releases that I still haven’t gotten around to reading yet. I just finished reading two massive books, however, so maybe this month will go even better! Here are the books that I really hope to get to this month, the ARCs being more important than the New Releases, as per usual.

Almost fifty books. I also have a bunch of requests I’m hoping to get that are on Netgalley and Edelweiss, and I just discovered a cool place called Booksprout that has arcs as well, and there’s a bunch of arcs in my email that I still haven’t gotten to either, and this will clearly be a month of heavy reading, in between writing book two of a trilogy/series that I’m currently working on as well!

So that’s my ambitious TBR pile for October, what books on here are you guys hoping to read, or are you reading other books that I haven’t yet heard of? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

September TBR: New Releases + ARCS!

This month is all about reading new books. My libraries (I have two, because I alternate between two different places) have new releases that I’ve been dying to read, and a few I’ve put off reading until the sequels are out, so now I have no excuse, and am eagerly going to be reading these gorgeous beauties!

My Ambitious TBR Pile:

Now, will I be able to read all of these? I really rather doubt it. I might manage, if I keep up the pace, and don’t loose focus. These are also just a handful of books that I really want to read, some of them at least over 500+pages! I sincerely hope that I can get through these, and not lose interest like I’ve been doing here lately (rather a lot, actually).

So those are most of the books that I’m definitely wanting to knock out of my TBR pile for the month of September. A few of them are quite fitting for this month with horror or fall related themes. See if you can guess which ones!
