Current Reads: A Bit of Everything

Hello Everyone,

Tis I, the infrequent blogger returned once again! I feel like I haven’t posted a bit of what I’ve been reading so here. Lemme fix that! As there’s a historical readathon going on and Realmathon (which I’ve been sadly failing at) I hope to get more reading done soon! Here’s what I have open at the moment!

Look at me trying to make my own stickers!

Historical Fiction I’m reading:

These are just some of my hopefuls but I don’t know that I’ll get to all of them. And now onto my fantasy shelf!

Fantasy Novels I’m Reading:

All of these are huge, well over 300 pages but I hope to get through a few of them at least. I’ve been on a historical romance kick here lately and I’m flying through those for the historical romance readathon as that’s only a week long while Realmathon happens all month long. I’m barely into 50 pages for Grace of Kings, and I’m just starting the Hacienda. Both look to be good reads.

I’d love to know what you all are reading. Are you participating in any events? Readathons? Do let me know in the comments. Hit the like button and if you read this far I’d love it if you subscribed to my blog.

Until next time,

WWW Wednesday: I only read 3 books last week? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Hello Everyone,

It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! I’m shocked by how little I read last week but then it’s almost Thanksgiving so maybe not so surprising. Stress and family make a huge difference in how much reading I get done apparently. Who knew? ๐Ÿค”

What am I currently reading:

I’m really trying to get back into the reading groove! Hopefully these lovelies will help!

What did I receive finish reading?

Apparently not much read this week! Two five star books and the inside ring I dnf’d sadly. Political thrillers aren’t much my thing, though some are awesome this just didn’t work for me.

What will I read next?:

I’m hoping for a lot of arcs/series catch up!

I sincerely hope to read more this week but thanks to it being Thanksgiving I doubt I’ll manage much at all. I will have a lot more to do with it being the holidays.

A special note from Pass Me That Book…I hope everyone reading this has a happy Thanksgiving, or any other holiday that you celebrate during this time. I hope all of you get a good meal and a safe place to sleep. Please stay safe out there, y’all. Happy reading and I won’t be back on until December.

Happy holidays!

Books I Forgot I Had: Stashed On My Kindle, Library App

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would do something new and list a few books that I forgot that I had in my kindle, let alone in my library overdrive app. There’s a hefty list of books on my tbr, but this list will be small. Maybe about ten, fifteen books that I will share that I forgot I had. Shall we?

I keep forgetting about this book, though to be fair I tried reading it twice and both times put it aside. I may try again soon but right now I’m just not in a sci-fi mood.

Again, not in a sci-fi mood but I really love Lavie Tidhar’s writing. I hope to be reading this and her other books next year!

This book has such a beautiful cover and is much loved by the community I know, but I’m just not ready for a box of tissues yet.

I know, I know, I know. Y’all are probably screaming at me that I still haven’t read this. I own a copy I just haven’t picked it up yet as I’ve been burned by YA a fair bit lately and am not in the mood for it.

I have put this on my tbr so many times this year but just haven’t picked it up and I keep forgetting to read it. ๐Ÿ˜’

I’ve had this for ages in my kindle but I just keep forgetting that I have it! One day I swear I’ll read this!

I’m also not in the mood for historical fiction as this book is quite long too. I own a physical copy now though so maybe soon I can read it.

I have a confession to make. I’ve never read the Night Circus. *Ducks for cover and hides*

I’ve heard so much praise for this author and still I haven’t read her books. ๐Ÿ˜”

~โ€ข~โ€ข~โ€ข~โ€ข~

I’ve decided to leave it here because I could just go on and on in how many books I haven’t read or forgotten about. Should I make any of these a priority? Let me know in the comments!

Discussion (Part Two): Series/Authors Backlist Titles To Focus On for 2022 (A Hefty List Continued!)

Hello Everyone,

As I’m writing this, the year is wrapping rapidly to a close and I’m still reading quite a bit. I plan to get a lot more serious in reading and reviewing next year as this past year I had a bit of a hiatus. Now it’s time to focus on my blog once again, and that means making priorities of book series to complete/finish for the next year. Here’s more authors and series I’m determined to get to!

Obviously I have quite a bit of books. 55 exactly on this list. I don’t have all of them listed that are on my wishlist that would take up far, far too much space. I’m not going to type up the list but if you want titles feel free to ask and I shall send you the titles in the comments. What’s on your tbr for next year? Anything good?

November TBR: Netgalley November, Nonfiction November, Novellas for November, Remember November…so much to read!

Hello Everyone,

Made with Canva.

I have a lot of projects this month and decided this year I’m not doing NaNoWriMo. Instead reading will be my primary focus, especially arcs as I have found that I have approximately 389 arcs on Netgalley…not counting the titles that got backlisted and are no longer there, oops. I have taken a year away for personal reasons but now I really need to play catch up. 2022 is already looking to being busy busy busy. But I’m hoping to get the arcs to a more manageable number. Sooner rather than later. Anyway here’s my ambitious November Tbr!

Netgalley Arcs To Read:

There’s way more arcs, of course, but these are my hopefuls! Then we have the nonfiction books on my tbr.

Nonfiction November:

I hope to do more than four, but honestly I generally don’t read a lot of nonfiction books. I have a few others I *might* can squeeze in…

Novellas for November:

These are the most immediate on my tbr, a few I have to wait for my library to get them. Network Effect is also an arc for Netgalley so bonus for that!

Remember November:

So many many books that I simply didn’t get to this year, and probably won’t be able to still. There’s authors who have large lists of books that I’ve only read a few. Classics that I hoped to read but didn’t manage it. Bestsellers. Prize winners. Favorite authors I still haven’t read of all their back titles. It was a good reading year but there’s still so much to read! Here’s hoping that the last two months of this year I can manage better than I had the past two.

Historathon:

A few of these you’ll have seen on here before. But I’m doubling up because some of these books are quite huge . These are series that I haven’t finished, or historical books I put off reading. The longest one I think (I could be wrong) is The Fall of Giants by Ken Follett. I’m not sure how big Diana’s last book in Outlander is yet but I look forward to finding out. I doubt I’ll get to all of these this year but I’m still quite hopeful. Hope your reading is going equally well. Let me know what I should prioritize in the comments!

WWW Wednesday: Not Much Read

Hello Everyone,

I haven’t read a whole lot as I got busy again with RealLife getting in the way but I still managed a few. One of which I don’t have a picture of unfortunately so ignoring that one.

What did I Read?:

My favorite out of all these was Idyll Threats surprisingly enough! I’ve already requested books two and three at the library. A murder mystery set in a small town where the MC is a sheriff that’s secretly gay. Delightful! The rest were all equally good, though some I liked better than others. Some reviews coming soon!

What Am I Currently Reading?:

I’m still working on my buddy read of Jasmine Throne, and I’m about 15% in. Really liking it. Hope to knock out the other two today, Black Water Sister being an Netgalley Arc.

What Am I Reading Next?:

She Who Became the Sun-library physical book

Cemetery Boys-Netgalley Arc

The Strange Case of the Alchemist Daughter-library physical copy

Jade Fire Gold-waiting for hold at library

A Dark and Hollow Star-library ebook

Priory of the Orange Tree-owned ebook

The Sisters of the Winter Wood-owned physical arc

The Library of Fates-owned physical book

Never Die-Owned ebook

The Goblin Emperor-waiting for hold copy at library

I hope to get all these read, though Priory is a beast of a book and let’s not forget that I’m reading something exciting for Halloween:

I think I’m definitely nervous reading this but also hugely excited. It’s fitting for Halloween too, isn’t it? Happy Halloween everyone and hope your reading goes well!

TBR BOOKS: 100+ Books I STILL Haven’t Read

Hello Everyone,

I’m sure we’re all guilty of having books on our shelves languishing on our shelves, sitting and waiting with accusing eyes. I’ve easily got several dozen that I am guilty of not reading yet. Here’s a bit of a list of all that I’m hoping to get to soon! So settle in, bring up Goodreads, and be prepared to add books to your TBR!

TBR BOOKS:

Many of these I’m embarrassed that I still haven’t read them! I’m always looking at other books or arcs that are priorities and many of these I just don’t have and need my library to access them. Which ones should I focus on? Also? Final count for all of this is 125 books. Ouch. There’s more but these are top of my tbr pile for now. I’m hoping to get to them soon.

September TBR: I Haven’t Done One Of These In Ages!

Hello all,

Lots of things happening in September. September first is my birthday!!! ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚ Happy birthday to me!!! (I’ll be 32 for those curious.)

Series September is also going on, meaning you try to knock out as many series as possible.

Magical Readathon is happening but I doubt I’ll participate in that one.

Becca’s Bookopolathon which I think I misspelled lol, is also happening. I’m not sure I will participate in this yet or not?

Big Books September is something I’m doing for myself in reading as many big books as I can seeing as we’re at the home stretch of the end of the year.

Here’s my potential tbr subject to change:

All the books I want to read!

Now I have read Eragon books 1 + 2 but I don’t think I’ve read book 3 and I know I haven’t read the last one.

I have read the Poppy War but not the remaining two.

I have read ALL of Pawn of Prophecy first original set up until the second series midway through.

And I’ve read book one of Sabriel but not the rest.

See a theme going here? Lol. I’m hoping to grab these from my local library and finish these all off hopefully. The rest I haven’t listed are ones that I’ve not read. These are some extras that I’m contemplating for series + big books:

Extra books I’ve been meaning to read!

I probably won’t get to all of these lol. And I’m still struggling in writing reviews, but I really am behind and hopeful that September can be my catch up month. Y’all can join me in #BigBookSeptember. I’d love for you to spread the word! Just tag me on Twitter as @Lovesbookandtea! What’s your tbr looking like? Read any of these? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

History or Mystery? Top Six Books On My TBR

Hello everyone,

I’ve got quite the hefty tbr going and so I thought I’d share some that I’m looking forward to reading here soon (I hope!). In no particular order these books are high on my wishlist to read:

A historical fiction piece about a group of men surviving in Alaska while the leader’s wife makes her own efforts to survive.
After losing her husband to war, a woman begins to become a well known midwife and leads a revolution.
A married couple become separated by war and husband believes that his wife has died when a chance encounter shows otherwise a few years later.
A woman goes on a hunt for lost art, and becomes involved in a mystery a painting believed to have been destroyed might actually be around after all.
A woman homicide detective returns to Ireland after clues show up of a long ago missing woman.
A woman begins to question that the man she loves might be a serial killer.

Each of these have elements history or mystery that I’m eager to explore. Some are new releases, while others are are backlist titles I’ve been meaning to get to for ages. Are any of these ones y’all have heard of? Let me know in the comments!

Happy New Year: New Year, New Arcs!

There’s lots of new arcs that I was recently approved on Netgalley. I’ve done two reviews thus far, but am behind-again-but only because I’m working on other things too. It being the new year, there’s also little time for reading/writing with family over for the holidays, which makes it more challenging as well. But I decided to do a brief post where I display the upcoming ARCs that I plan on reading and reviewing. Here are the new books that I was approved on Netgalley, several of which I am eagerly anticipating!

I’m quite excited for “Romanov”, “Fog Season”, and “A Danger to Herself and Others” but I really am eagerly anticipating all of these, and can’t wait to start reading them! I hope I can get to them soon, because my Netgalley reading list is starting to become rather alarming.

Other books that I’m currently reading:

The Defiant Heir by Melissa Caruso

The Witch of Willow Hall by Hester Fox

The Winter Road by Adrian Selbyย

I should have reviews up for those three books soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for that, as well as several other updates I’m planning on doing. I’ve been working like made on the secret project, hoping to get it up soon. Otherwise, this is all the news that I really have to share with at the moment. I hope everyone had a lovely new year, and got approved arcs as well.

Until next time,
