My Bookshelf Tour: A Sneak Peak At My 2022 TBR

Hello everyone,

Today I thought I’d do a bookshelf tour of all the books that I have on my never ending tbr pile. I’m not the best photographer but I do hope that this is still an enjoyable post! I love seeing others shelves so feel free to share yours in the comments!

Up first, my tbr shelf. As I sadly don’t own an actual tbr cart (yet!) I’m doing a tbr shelf instead. Jade City is a buddy read and the rest are my priorities for the year. I’m hoping to get to all of them eventually. I just started Glory Season by David Brin too, and I hope to start City of Brass soon as well.

The other half of my immediate tbr shelf! I have read Red Rising but never finished the series and remember nothing of book one so I’m due for a reread. I also adore Sebastian de Castell and really want to finish that series this year.

My second shelf of priorities is a mixed bag of tricks! I’ve got fantasy and thrillers, scifi and ya. I really need to catch up with Red Sister by Mark Lawrence, and there’s lots of others I want to read too!

The other half of the above shelf. Need I say more? Actually that Ken Follet book is book three. Books one and two I don’t own yet. The other Sharon Shinn books of that series are in my room… somewhere.

All my big books I’m intimidated by! 😳

The other half of my scary shelf. Jade City is currently being read (finally!).

My assorted, disorganized new books. Mostly historical fiction, mysteries and thrillers.

There you guys go! That’s my current tbr piles. Not my whole library then this post will be much longer! Hopefully you spot something to add to your own tbrs! Let me know what you think about this post in the comments! Good bad needs work? Lol.

Until next time,

WWW Wednesday: How is it Wednesday again already?!?

Hello everyone,

Its time for another round of WWW Wednesday! I’ve only read three books this past week, but one was a classic. Here are the books that I finished reading!

What did I finish reading?

Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh is a five star read. Romeo and Juliet was better than I remembered while sadly Psalm for the Wild Built wasn’t what I hoped it would be and I dnf’d it.

What am I currently reading?

These three are buddy reads! I’m at 120 pages of Jade City, I just started the Diviners and I have yet to start Bone Witch though that will change soon!

These are the books I’m currently working on. All of these apart from Glory Season and Battlemage are relatively short. I’m trying to really read a lot this week and get up to 50 books but not just reading short fiction. My plan is to read a bunch of short things with a couple big things in between and it seems to be working in getting rid of my slumps at last!

What am I reading next?

A lot of backlog titles I’m trying to get to. I really hope to read The Last Cuentista and The Stars Are Legion most of all.

What are all of you reading? Anything good? Let me know in the comments. I’m hoping to seriously thin down my tbr this year. I’m very tired of the backlog just glaring at me. Time to actually get some reading done this year!

Until next time,

WWW Wednesday: I read 11 Books for the Start of 2022

Hello everyone,

It’s my first WWW Wednesday of this year! I’m happy to report that my reading has been going amazingly well! So many great books and already two that I think are the best books I’ve read yet! Let’s dive right into it shall we?

What did I finish reading?

This was a dnf at forty percent. I tried but I just wasn’t hooked as much as I’d hoped to be! 3 ⭐
5 ⭐! Glorious! Awe inspiring perfection! This is so far my most favorite read of the year!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I hadn’t realized this was a kids book but it had a good message and lovely artwork. 5 ⭐
5 ⭐!!! Such a cool concept and such tension! 💜
This was okay. I may need a reread to fully think my rating over. 3 ⭐
2 ⭐. Dnf. The pacing for this was weak and I didn’t much like the characters. Interesting concept for the bad guy though. Not terrible writing but definitely needs an editor. Kindle freebie I got years ago and read on a whim.
5 ⭐! This was way better than I thought it would be! I adore Scottish mysteries though the ending felt abrupt this was still quite fun!

What am I currently reading?

Not a lot at the moment. I still have my Jade City buddy read going. I’m at page 82 and nowhere close to halfway lol. I also have these I’m reading:

What am I reading next?

I honestly have no idea. I’m trying to get books that have been on my tbr a while, even as I mix it with new releases to keep things fresh. Aside from Jade City, I’m mood reading right now before I start seriously tackling my enormous arc pile on Netgalley! February is going to be the start of my #ArcApocalypse again I think. Still feeling things out as I don’t want to have as many slumps as I did last year. This year I plan on doing things a bit different. WWW Wednesday once a month, maybe. And more book reviews. I’m still organizing. I also got a new phone so I have been transferring everything too which is fun…so many things to do! I hope everyone has been reading well at the start of the new year.

Until next time,

WWW Wednesday: I read 6 books since the last time I did this.

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another WWW Wednesday! I skipped last week’s because I hadn’t read but a single book and I just wasn’t in the mood for posting anything. This one isn’t much better in that I read five books + a short story. I have a couple new favorites and a lot of dnf’s. Let’s just get to it shall we?

What did I finish reading?

I’m struggling against a reading slump. Again. I’ve three books before I hit 250 books on my Goodreads goal. I’m hoping to get some reading in the next two days before the new year. I should manage it. Here’s what I’ve recently finished reading:

What am I currently reading?

What am I going to read next?

I’m in such a fantasy mood right now! Finally!!! I’m doubtful that I can read any of these before the end of the year but I’m still including these as my “potentials”. I know Knights Shadow is not the first but I want to read the whole series; same for the others! I’m hoping that next year I will be back into reading with fewer slumps! Doubtful but hopeful! What did you read since last Wednesday? Let me know in the comments!

WWW Wednesday: I Somehow Read 8 books this week? 🤷

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another www wednesday where I tell you all about what I managed to read last week. I somehow managed to read 8 books. Amazing. Though none were five stars a lot were good. A few were dnf’s. But let’s start with what I’m currently reading shall we?

What am I Currently Reading?:

All of these are ebooks and I’m currently waiting for my kindle to charge so that I can keep reading lol. I just started the Keening and it’s about 300 pages I think anyway and it’s a recent release. I should finish it fast soon as my kindle is charged. The others I plan to read immediately after if I can without family pestering me during the holidays coming lol.

What did I finish reading?:

The best book was Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh at 4.5 stars. The worst book that I dnf’d was Life Class. I just didn’t care for it at all. I also read Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen and gave it 4 stars. And another book but I can’t remember which one lol.

What will I read next?

For ebooks I already answered up above but here’s the physical books that I hope to read soon:

Yes, yes I know! I’m still behind on all these big fantasies but honestly I’ve been reading on my kindle more lately more than I have physical books. I’m hoping to get to these soon, but I’m behind again on Netgalley too. So I’m unsure how my reading will turn out by the end of the year. How’s your reading going? Make your Goodreads goal yet? I only have ten books left to reach 250 books read for the year! I’m hoping to reach it!

Until next time, happy holidays everyone!

WWW Wednesday: I managed to read 2 Books and four short stories

Hello everyone,

How is it already another Wednesday? I feel like this week slipped by faster than usual but I somehow managed to get some reading done. I read four amazing Tor short stories and two books. I’m currently reading two other books too. Let’s see what all I’ve read! (Side note: I can’t get pictures of the short stories that I read. Apologies.)

What am I currently reading?

I just started two books and I hope to finish at least one by tomorrow! The last books I started in the previous WWW are ongoing as well but these are what I’m actually reading for now. Here’s what I’m reading:

What did I finish reading?

Honestly not a lot, lol. One was a two star read and White Smoke was four stars.

What will I read next?

I have quite a hefty list of books I want to read this week and I’m hoping to be able to get through them this time. I’m tired of making plans and not following through. Here’s my stack of next week’s tbr:

I’m seriously setting time up for getting through all these books. I have several plans and upcoming reviews that I’d like to do as well. I’m also hoping to start next year with a series of reviewing Tor short fiction. Until then though, I’m going to hopefully get a move on and actually read some of these books! How’s your reading progressing? Read anything good? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

Top Books I Forgot To Read: The 2021 Edition

Hello Everyone,

I’m always forgetting about new releases, super hyped books, and just not completing my TBR’s that I’ve made. This past year I’ve dnf’d more books, I have changed my mind on several, I’ve put aside a book never to pick it up again because I forgot about it… the list of reasons is endless. And my stress has made it harder to focus on reading this year thanks to a multitude of reasons I’m sure we can all relate. But I decided a fun thing to do for the last month of the year was combine the top “forgotten” books and try to get to them before the years end. It’s unlikely that I will but regardless…lists are fun and an excellent means of procrastination in actually reading.

Okay, to be fair I waited on reading Jade City until the trilogy was complete but the rest I just completely forgot about. Red Knight by Miles Cameron is also a thick book as is most of these that I chose. I think that the one I’m most intrigued by is Last Song Before Night. Such a lovely cover but I can say the same thing about most all these books. And a few of these do seem winter themed so perfect timing. Which one should I make a priority I wonder? 🤔

I hope to get to these before the end of the year but my tbr is already quite large so I’m not holding my breath. I wish everyone else happy reading and good luck with their own tbr goals.

Until next time,

2021 December TBR: The Hardest TBR to Make of the Year

Hello Everyone,

I have all these (above) as my hopeful tbr for December but there’s loads of others to that I hope to get to. Every month I have a tbr I don’t stick too but I hope to get to anyway. This month is more ambitious than usual as it’s the last month of the year so I have those 35 books plus these additional ones if possible:

Not to mention these library books that I have checked out:

I’m very hopeful that this month won’t be slumpy like the last year has been. I’m hoping that next year reading will be easier as will reviewing. I wish everyone well with their last month tbr of the year!

Happy reading,

2021 November Wrap Up: I read 19 books last month

Hello Everyone,

Last month I hit a slump hard but it was also Thanksgiving so I’m excusing myself as I was quite busy! Lots of family get-togethers and a lot of food and company. It was fun! Here are the books that I managed to read for November:

Out of all these, I think my favorite was Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh and The Witness For the Dead by Katherine Addison. My least favorites were Ink and Sigil by Kevin Hearne and The Inside Ring by Mike Lawson.

Up next on the blog is my favorite post to make and that’s my monthly tbr!

Until next time,

WWW Wednesday: I only read 3 books last week? 😬

Hello Everyone,

It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! I’m shocked by how little I read last week but then it’s almost Thanksgiving so maybe not so surprising. Stress and family make a huge difference in how much reading I get done apparently. Who knew? 🤔

What am I currently reading:

I’m really trying to get back into the reading groove! Hopefully these lovelies will help!

What did I receive finish reading?

Apparently not much read this week! Two five star books and the inside ring I dnf’d sadly. Political thrillers aren’t much my thing, though some are awesome this just didn’t work for me.

What will I read next?:

I’m hoping for a lot of arcs/series catch up!

I sincerely hope to read more this week but thanks to it being Thanksgiving I doubt I’ll manage much at all. I will have a lot more to do with it being the holidays.

A special note from Pass Me That Book…I hope everyone reading this has a happy Thanksgiving, or any other holiday that you celebrate during this time. I hope all of you get a good meal and a safe place to sleep. Please stay safe out there, y’all. Happy reading and I won’t be back on until December.

Happy holidays!
