August 2022 TBR: Goals, Plans, and Hope To Beat the Reading Slump!

Hello Everyone,

I’m posting this early, I know, but I am crossing my fingers that next month is going to be a huge reading month for me! I have so many books that I have put off reading that I’m going to read these. I just have a few plans in place.

My Plans:

Basically read, lol. I’m going to try to read two books a day of I can, and hope life doesn’t get in the way again.

Limited computer + phone. Now, I do use ebooks on my phone so that’s an exception. And I’m posting from my phone to my blog so another exception. Otherwise, nope.

Read my tbr, STICK to my tbr. Often I’m a mood reader but I’m going to see if I can actually stick with a tbr and see if that helps!

My TBR:

All of these have been on my tbr at least once or twice, however Iron Widow + The Traitor Baru Cormorant are rereads in preparation for the the sequels as I plan on catch up on finishing series that I’ve started.

Now if I read all those and somehow stick with my planned tbr, here’s another set that I hope to get through!

These are high on my wishlist but I don’t think I’ll be able to get a few of them as some are brand new. I’m really hoping to make good headway into my reading for this coming month. Let me know what all your tbrs look like and if there’s any recs you want to share based on my tbr. I hope everyone has an enjoyable reading month ahead!

Until next time,

July 2022 Wrap Up: I Failed Reading 50 Books In a Month (Again)

Hello Everyone,

This month started weak and by the end I barely managed 20 books for the month. I am blaming getting horribly sick the first couple weeks and being super busy. I’m struggling with my Goodreads goal of 350 books. I’m just now at 150! I need to get my butt in gear. Anyways. Here are the books that I’ve read for July. Some were good, most were meh.

I don’t have all the pictures because that’s a lot but here’s a fair bit of them! Blade of Secrets and Alone Out Here were both very good! The rest were mostly 3 stars.

I’m really hoping next month I will hit my reading stride, although next month I may be going to New York. Not sure if that’s still in the works since three of my family that were going to go is now ill, and one has Covid. So fun times.

I hope everyone had a good reading month! If you have any of these that you’ve read, please do share your thoughts in the comments.

Until next time,

Overdrive: What’s On My Wishlist TBR? PART 1

For those that prefer the app Libby, I prefer the older Overdrive App. Its cleaner, and easier to load when you don’t have wifi, in my honest opinion. I like that it loads pictures easier, and its better to navigate. While I like the idea of Libby, its just not worked itself out well at all for me. I still keep it on my phone, same as Hoopla though I rarely use either. Hoopla frustrates me with the far limited number of check outs and timing than Overdrive does as well. So. What’s on my Overdrive App? Well, a lot of series, a rare few standalones, and a smattering of YA with Adult winning against the YA titles as of late. Do you have pen and paper handy, as well as Goodreads open? You’ll want to take down a lot of these titles!:

LGBT+ REP, ASIAN REP, CHINESE REP, DISABILITY REP, YA/MG LITERATURE :

This isn’t all of it, of course. There’s loads more YA/MG if I put up all of them we’d be here all day. As is these are high on my wishlist at the moment, and I’m eager to get to them soon. Are you planning on reading any of these? Heard anything good? Let me know in the comments!

May 2021 TBR: An Assortment of Kindle and Physical Reads

A rather delayed TBR post, my apologies, but I’d been pondering how big I want this month’s tbr, considering the last month was a success, despite that I’m still not posting reviews just yet. As is, I’m really in the mood for a lot of books, and I’m really hoping to post reviews after I finish organizing all my posts that are marked as “uncategorized”, which I still got about 400+ to go through. Yay. On a side note, I’m also making new menus, fixing up my website’s aesthetics, and changing things about a bit. Its a slow work in progress, but onwards to the TBR!

PHYSICAL READS

These are the current library books that I have. I do plan to finish and hopefully review these within the next month, Carol Bergs being the biggest on my list above, but I can read her work pretty quick usually, and I always enjoy the worlds she writes. Song of the Beast was a favorite back in 2019, as was a couple other stand-alones though I don’t recall their titles. I should be able to finish all of these by the end of May.

KINDLE READS

And that’s my tbr! I’m most eager to get to Thrown to the Wolves by Charlie Adhara as well as Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s book, Return to the Sorceress. All of these are high on my wishlist, but those two are ones I am definitely going to be reading in the next few days.

What’s your tbr shaping up like? Anything good? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

Waiting on Wednesday: My Dreadful TBR

Hello friends.

I haven’t read a single book all week. Mostly because I have no idea what to read, but also because:

  1. Rain-we are in the middle of building an addition to the house and all this rain is not helping.
  2. Book slump is worst slump ever.
  3. Lazy. All I’ve been doing is sleeping, and preparing to move from upstairs of my house to downstairs. My room is a disaster!

So yeah. I’m desperately behind on arcs, library books, ebooks, and so on. The only things I’ve read actually are Wattpad books which don’t count because they’re not finished. So, I’m planning on rectifying this week by reading nonstop.

My library books I need to read as pictured above. Currently I’m picking up Otherland by Tad Williams, Hot in Hellcat Canyon by Jill Shalvis, and Going Dark by Monica McCarty.

I hope to finish at least two by tonight! Then I will be reading arcs on my Kindle:

These are the top five Netgalley arcs leaping at me to read, so Reviews of these may come quickly as well.

Aside from that, I really don’t know what to pick up next. I definitely have plenty of books for a while! What are y’all reading? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

March TBR: Ambitious Pile

Welcome!

It’s the start of the month and I have a TBR to share with all my bookish friends! This month is going to be ambitious-not just with reading, but updating and reviewing more too. Or so I hope! On to the books!

Fantasy Picks:

Science Fiction:

YA Books:

Graphic Novel:

~•~

And that’s it!

For now anyway. If I read through all these I’ll be shocked. Several if not all are over 400* pages. And Priory is MASSIVE. Almost too big to hold!

I hope y’all have a better TBR pile than me this month. Because apparently I like ambitious goals I likely won’t fulfill lol.

Until next time,

First Mini Haul: March 2019

I bought some books! Big surprise right? Yeah yeah, I know I don’t need more but I couldn’t resist adding to my collection!

Only five books. I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy/romance lately, especially the dark ones filled with violence and angst for the characters. But I also found a Rick Riordan HARDCOVER for a $1 which is insane and awesome. So yeah, happy with the books!

Up next is my March TBR post and some book reviews.

Until next time,
